Full Job Description

The Source Hotel is seeking a qualified, energetic, and friendly Front Desk Agent to join our growing team! As a Preferred Standard property, our unique hotel serves both overnight guests, as well as those who come to experience the variety of food, beverage, and retail options our establishment provides.

As the new Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, playing an important role in all aspects of their stay. The Front Desk Agent should be able to independently gauge and appropriately respond to all issues that a guest has, in a timely, mature manner. The ideal candidate for this position, will possess strong interpersonal skills, as well as a competent administrative ability.

Responsibilities for Front Desk Agent

  • Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
  • Manage online and phone reservations
  • Inform customers on payment methods and verify their credit card data
  • Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
  • Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
  • Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
  • Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
  • Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, such as wedding guests
  • Up-sell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
  • Maintain updated records of bookings and payments

Qualifications for Front Desk Agent

  • Past experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent
  • Maintain a reliable work ethic
  • Ability to multitask
  • Incredibly detail oriented
  • Able to work nights and weekends
  • Experience with hotel reservations software ie: Opera
  • Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking and TripAdvisor
  • Customer service attitude, and independent problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Friendly, discrete, and professional demeanor
  • Degree in hospitality is a plus
